Tomeka Powell

Ms. Tomeka Powell has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Oral Roberts University and a Master of Business Administration degree from California State University, Bakersfield. She is co-owner of Frye Plumbing Inc., a family-owned and operated, licensed plumbing company, and Lollipopa, LLC, a novelty birthday company for girls.  

Ms. Powell has over 15 years of business planning and management experience in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. She is a previous President/CEO of the Kern County Black Chamber of Commerce and has served as a member of the Bakersfield East Rotary, a candidate for Bakersfield City Council, Ward 1, and a public servant District 5 Representative on the Kern County Human Relations Commission. She is also a former district representative for a California State Senator. Ms. Powell is currently a member of the Bakersfield Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, and the Kappa Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

She is a wife and mom to three beautiful children. Besides her love for entrepreneurship and marketing, her favorite subject is economics.
