About the Lab

From design concepts to creative projects and rapid prototyping to product development, students have the opportunity to explore innovative ideas, fabricate, and tinker in a collaborative space. 

 

Launched in Fall 2021 at CTEC and ROC, the Ideation Lab is equipped with cutting-edge technology and machinery including a laser cutter, 3D printers, a milling machine, a direct-to-garment printer, large format inkjet printer/cutter, and more.

 

Our mission is to empower students to become confident self-starters by offering the resources, technology, and support to transform their ideas into realities.

 

In early January 2022, the first student projects were created. Today, over 100 student and faculty projects have been completed in the Ideation Labs at ROC and CTEC. Both labs' most popularly utilized machinery is the VersaSTUDIO BT-12 direct-to-garment printer.
